Pag-asa Steel Works, Inc. seeks motivated Cadet Engineers to support its expansion and operations. Our cadetship program provides entry-level engineers with the opportunity to develop their skills through training and hands-on experience in our operations.

Key tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Conducting improvement projects across Quality Assurance, Production, Maintenance Engineering, and Supply Chain Management (Purchasing, Logistics, Warehousing, Planning)
  • Conducting line work in assigned sections of the mill or operations
  • Training to assume greater responsibility in the assigned department upon completion of the cadetship
  • Creating engineering drawings and technical reports as needed
  • Creating documentation and training materials
  • Managing a project work schedule, from planning to implementation stages
  • Organizing documents for internal audit and risk management
  • Performing root cause analysis and investigation
  • Reporting to Senior Leadership on key learnings, analysis, observations, and recommendations

Required Education, Skills, and Qualifications

Preferred candidates will exhibit the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or Chemical Engineering; licensed or unlicensed
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial set-up preferred
  • At least 6 months to 1 year of experience in a corporate or entrepreneurial environment preferred
  • Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and strong numerical ability
  • Interfacing with external suppliers and stakeholders
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings; AutoCAD proficiency preferred
  • Ability to perform manufacturing Field tasks, as well as knowledge of basic manufacturing procedures and processes
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, intellectual curiosity, and academic performance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task, adapt, and learn quickly
  • Superior organization skills and attention to detail
  • Strong project management and time management (prioritization) skills
  • Drive, motivation, and positive attitude (willingness to accept feedback, learn, and improve)
  • Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) mandatory; skills in photo editing, statistical, ERP, and reporting software a plus
