Job Summary:

If you are a Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or Software Engineering student looking for an internship opportunity to work with the global Emerson Systems and Software organization, this is a stimulating opportunity for you! As the AI and Data Engineering Intern, you will support the development of AI-powered solutions that enhance internal audit processes and decision-making. You will collaborate with auditors, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to build intelligent tools that drive data-informed insights and improve efficiency.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Collaborating with internal auditors and engineering teams to understand audit workflows, data sources, and key challenges
• Developing AI and machine learning prototypes for anomaly detection, risk scoring, and data classification
• Building automation tools that streamline audit procedures and improve operational efficiency
• Supporting model evaluation, validation, and tuning to enhance accuracy and reliability
• Assisting in integrating AI components into internal tools and dashboards used by audit teams
Documenting methodologies, models, and technical outputs to enable knowledge sharing and reuse

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Ability to commit to a minimum of 480 hours; both required and voluntary interns are welcome.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Interest in applying AI in business domains such as audit, risk, or compliance
• Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams
Willingness to learn and apply new technologies in practical scenarios

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

• Experience building small applications or using modern development tools
• Exposure to machine learning, data analytics, or natural language processing concepts
• Familiarity with cloud-based AI tools or large language model technologies
Awareness of data privacy, security, or secure coding practices
