• Successful completion of Philippine Red Cross first aid Seminar (SFAT)
• Examines patients and treats injuries within the scope of training and/or refers patients to appropriate practitioner or clinic or arranges for transport to local hospital.
• Provides standard first aid treatment for injuries not considered serious, which may include cleaning injured areas and applying antiseptic, salves, ointments, or bandages.
• Observes staff with injuries or illnesses requiring further treatment.
• Maintains required records and documentation including log of injuries and occupational illnesses requiring first aid treatment.
• Maintains adequate inventory of first aid supplies; requests additional supplies when needed.
• Maintains neat and tidy first aid room.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Overview:

As a First Aider in our construction company, you will be responsible for providing immediate medical assistance and initial care to injured or ill employees on site. Your role is crucial in ensuring the health and safety of our workforce, promptly responding to emergencies and promoting a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Emergency Response:

• Quickly assess and respond to medical emergencies such as injuries, accidents, and sudden illnesses.
• Administer first aid treatment and basic life support as necessary until further medical assistance arrives.
• Coordinate with emergency services (ambulance, fire department) when required.

Injury Assessment and Treatment:

• Conduct initial assessment of injuries to determine the nature and severity.
• Apply appropriate first aid techniques and procedures, such as wound care, splinting, and immobilization.
• Monitor and reassure injured individuals, ensuring their comfort and safety.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Document all incidents, injuries, and medical treatments accurately and promptly.
• Maintain detailed records of first aid interventions and follow-up care provided.
• Report incidents to the designated health and safety officer or supervisor.

Health and Safety Promotion:

• Assist in promoting a culture of safety and wellness among employees.
• Conduct regular safety checks and inspections of first aid kits and emergency equipment.
• Provide guidance on preventive measures and safe work practices to minimize accidents and injuries.

Training and Education:

• Conduct first aid training sessions and workshops for employees as needed.
• Educate staff on emergency procedures and the importance of prompt reporting of injuries or incidents. (SFAT HOLDER)

Qualifications and Skills:

• Certification as a First Aider or Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) required.
• Strong knowledge of first aid techniques, CPR, and basic life support.
• Prior experience in a similar role, preferably in a construction or industrial setting.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Awareness of occupational health and safety regulations and practices.
• Physical fitness and ability to respond quickly to emergencies in various conditions.
