Job Summary

The Internal Medicine Physician is responsible for providing comprehensive medical evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients undergoing chemotherapy and other cancer-related treatments. The physician collaborates closely with oncologists, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care while addressing comorbid conditions and treatment-related complications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive medical assessments and physical examinations of patients before and during chemotherapy treatment.
  • Evaluate patients' fitness for chemotherapy and identify potential medical risks or contraindications.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, infections, and other comorbidities.
  • Monitor and manage treatment-related side effects and complications.
  • Provide medical consultations and recommendations to support oncology treatment plans.
  • Coordinate patient referrals, admissions, and transfers to hospitals when necessary.
  • Respond to medical emergencies occurring within the facility.
  • Review laboratory, diagnostic, and imaging results and formulate appropriate management plans.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely medical documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with DOH and healthcare regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding disease management, treatment plans, and preventive healthcare measures.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Licensed Physician with a valid PRC License.
  • Diplomate or Board-Certified/Board-Eligible in Internal Medicine is preferred.
  • Relevant experience in hospital, outpatient, oncology, or infusion center settings is an advantage.
  • Current BLS/ACLS certification is preferred.
  • Excellent clinical judgment and patient management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
