Job Summary
The Internal Medicine Physician is responsible for providing comprehensive medical evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients undergoing chemotherapy and other cancer-related treatments. The physician collaborates closely with oncologists, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care while addressing comorbid conditions and treatment-related complications.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive medical assessments and physical examinations of patients before and during chemotherapy treatment.
- Evaluate patients' fitness for chemotherapy and identify potential medical risks or contraindications.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, infections, and other comorbidities.
- Monitor and manage treatment-related side effects and complications.
- Provide medical consultations and recommendations to support oncology treatment plans.
- Coordinate patient referrals, admissions, and transfers to hospitals when necessary.
- Respond to medical emergencies occurring within the facility.
- Review laboratory, diagnostic, and imaging results and formulate appropriate management plans.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely medical documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with DOH and healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families regarding disease management, treatment plans, and preventive healthcare measures.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Licensed Physician with a valid PRC License.
- Diplomate or Board-Certified/Board-Eligible in Internal Medicine is preferred.
- Relevant experience in hospital, outpatient, oncology, or infusion center settings is an advantage.
- Current BLS/ACLS certification is preferred.
- Excellent clinical judgment and patient management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
