Desktop Support Specialist jobs

About the Role We are seeking a technically capable and highly independent Website Support Specialist. You will manage a portfolio of around 50 WordPress websites, blending hands-on technical support, ticket triage, and a strict security-first mindset.

This is a part-time role (20 hours per week) with a genuine pathway to transition into a full-time position. We need a proactive problem-solver who takes ownership of their task queue, executes flawlessly on monthly maintenance retainers, and actively identifies opportunities to improve client sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Routine Maintenance: Execute monthly WordPress maintenance retainers with zero missed updates (core, plugins, themes, backup verification, and uptime monitoring).
• Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve broken layouts, plugin conflicts, performance issues, 500 errors, and white screens.
• Task & Ticket Management: Take full ownership of the daily support queue. Triage incoming requests by urgency, independently sequence your work, and strictly adhere to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Security & Best Practices: Monitor security tooling (e.g., malware scanning, firewall alerts), apply best practices across all sites, and escalate any signs of compromise.
• Proactive Growth: Identify and pitch site improvement opportunities (security gaps, basic technical SEO visibility, performance enhancements) within existing client accounts.
• Communication: Communicate professionally and proactively with clients in written English regarding straightforward tickets and status updates.

Skills & Experience

• Experience: Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in a client-facing agency or dedicated website support role.
• Core Technical Skills: Strong hands-on WordPress troubleshooting experience beyond the admin dashboard (wp-config, error logs, basic database checks).
• Languages & Styling: Good understanding of CSS and basic PHP.
• Platforms & Tools: Familiarity with Cloudways, WooCommerce, CPanel, and security plugins like Wordfence and Sucuri. Project management experience using Asana is a plus.
• Traits: Detail-oriented, naturally curious, highly reliable, and capable of handling compliance-sensitive client data with absolute discretion.
• Nice-to-Haves: Basic SEO or Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) awareness, and familiarity with Shopify.

IT & Workspace Requirements

• A quiet, dedicated home workspace (preference for candidates located in areas less prone to severe weather or flood disruptions).
• Reliable laptop or desktop, plus an additional second monitor.
• Standard broadband internet connection (system checks will be required).
• Willingness to comply with strict security protocols, including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and the use of a company-provided VPN.

Pay: From Php35,000.00 per month
