About Xtrm
Xtrm is a global FinTech payments company. Xtrm operates using a fully distributed team spanning many countries. We are a high-growth company serving more than 25,000 customers worldwide.

About the Role
We’re establishing our new Philippine entity and are looking for an experienced HR Manager to build our HR function from the ground up. During the first three months, you’ll collaborate with our entity setup partner, and you’ll then take full ownership of HR for our Philippine team. As a team of one, you’ll handle everything from hiring and onboarding to benefits, compliance, and policies. This is a hands-on role for someone who has built an HR department before and knows Philippine HR inside and out.

Employment Type
This role will start as a contract position with guaranteed monthly compensation. Within the first several months, it will transition to a full-time employee position with the Philippine entity, including additional pay such as 13th-month pay and healthcare benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with our entity setup partner during the first three months to establish HR operations for our new Philippine entity
  • Build the HR department from the ground up, including processes, policies, and employee records
  • Create and maintain the employee handbook, company policies, and employment contracts in line with Philippine labor law
  • Lead recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding for Philippine-based team members
  • Set up and administer employee benefits, including healthcare benefits, government-mandated benefits, and leave programs
  • Manage the company holiday calendar and leave policies based on Philippine regular and special holidays
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with the Philippine Labor Code and government requirements, including SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, BIR, and DOLE
  • Coordinate with payroll and accounting on payroll, government contributions, 13th-month pay, and tax withholding
  • Support the transition of current team members from contractor to employee status
  • Handle employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary processes in line with Philippine due process requirements
  • Serve as the main HR point of contact for the Philippine team and work closely with our US-based HR team

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an HR Manager, HR Supervisor, or top-level HR role in the Philippines
  • Experience working as an HR team of one, managing all HR functions independently
  • Experience with a Philippine startup or new entity, including building an HR department from the ground up
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine labor law and government agency requirements (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, BIR, DOLE)
  • Hands-on experience setting up and managing employee benefits in the Philippines, including healthcare benefits and government-mandated benefits
  • Experience creating employee handbooks, policies, and onboarding programs
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Highly organized, independent, and comfortable working remotely with a distributed team

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with or for a US-based company
  • Experience with BambooHR or a similar HR system
  • Experience with Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field

Pay: Php85,500.00 per month

Benefits:

  • Flexible schedule
  • Opportunities for promotion
  • Paid training
  • Pay raise
  • Work from home
