About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Design Drafter – Interior Fit-Out. The role reviews interior design drawings during the final stages of design and converts approved design intent into accurate, coordinated, and construction-ready shop drawings.

The primary selection priority is the ability to translate design details into practical, measurable, and constructible information. Strong construction thinking and problem-solving are valued above advanced software operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the Design, Estimating, and Construction departments to maintain clear communication and support efficient project execution.
• Review interior design drawings during the backend of the design process, identifying and rectifying errors, omissions, inconsistencies, and constructability concerns.
• Supplement design information with the dimensions, levels, material build-ups, fixing methods, tolerances, junctions, hardware references, and other details required for accurate fabrication and installation.
• Propose practical solutions that improve construction efficiency, sequencing, coordination, material use, and site installation while preserving approved design intent.
• Work alongside the Construction team to prepare and revise detailed shopfitting drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, joinery or millwork details, and setting-out information.

Skills & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Drafting Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• At least 3 years of drafting experience in interior fit-out, shopfitting, joinery or millwork, architectural interiors, or a comparable construction environment.
• Demonstrated ability to convert design intent into clear, measurable, and constructible details that fabricators and site teams can confidently follow.
• Strong practical problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify missing or unbuildable information and develop workable options.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD. Advanced proficiency is advantageous but may be flexible where strong construction understanding, drawing accuracy, problem-solving ability, and learning capacity are demonstrated.
• Good knowledge of interior construction methods, fit-out materials, joinery, hardware, tolerances, fixing methods, and installation practices.
• Good written and spoken English, attention to detail, time management, and confidence coordinating with office, supplier, fabrication, and site teams.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a remote environment.
• Portfolio or sample drawing set demonstrating technical accuracy, construction detailing, and understanding of buildability.

Preferred Experience

• Commercial interior fit-out site experience, particularly trade coordination, site measurement, installation sequencing, and resolving site-based construction issues.
• Experience using SketchUp.
• Exposure to fabrication drawings, CNC or joinery production, and site installation.
• Experience with retail, hospitality, commercial office, workplace, or food and beverage fit-out projects.

Work Setup

• Philippines-based remote role, working Monday to Friday in alignment with Sydney business hours.
• Required to remain connected through team video chat during scheduled working hours for communication, coordination, and team visibility, except during approved breaks or when otherwise directed.
• Must have a stable internet connection, reliable computer, suitable remote work environment, and strong responsiveness throughout working hours.
• Must be willing to undergo a paid trial period as part of the selection and evaluation process.
