Dotplan supports AGC Interior through remote professional teams working across design, estimating, marketing, administration, sales, systems, and operational support.

About the Position

We are looking for a detail-focused Junior Interior Designer to support our growing remote Design team.

This role is suited to someone with practical interior design and documentation experience who can assist experienced designers with drawings, revisions, presentations, material selections, research, and other assigned project tasks.

The successful candidate will work under the guidance of more experienced designers and is not expected to independently manage complete projects from the outset.

We are looking for someone who can follow instructions and established design standards accurately, produce reliable work, respond well to feedback, and gradually take on greater responsibility as their skills and familiarity with our processes develop.

Experience in commercial interiors, retail, hospitality, workplace, architecture, or fit-out projects will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Documentation

• Assist with space planning, concept development, mood boards, material selections, and presentation materials.
• Prepare and update interior design drawings using AutoCAD.
• Develop 3D models and visual presentations using SketchUp and related software.
• Complete drawing revisions based on instructions and design-team feedback.
• Assist with floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, joinery details, furniture layouts, finishes, and other design documentation.
• Support the preparation of drawing packages and presentation materials.
• Check assigned work carefully for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
• Follow established company templates, design standards, and documentation procedures.
• Assist in ensuring design work is practical, buildable, and appropriate for commercial fit-out projects.

Design Team Support

• Support experienced designers with assigned project and documentation tasks.
• Assist with product, material, furniture, finish, and design research.
• Complete assigned work within agreed timelines.
• Respond to design feedback and revisions promptly and accurately.
• Raise questions when instructions, drawings, or project information are unclear.
• Maintain organised design files and supporting documents.
• Provide clear progress updates on assigned work.
• Take on increasingly complex responsibilities as capability develops.

Project Coordination

• Coordinate with the Design team and other internal departments where required.
• Assist with maintaining accurate project and design documentation.
• Support internal design handovers and project coordination activities.
• Communicate professionally with team members and relevant external parties when required.
• Identify and raise missing information, conflicting requirements, or blockers early.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field.
• Around 1 to 3 years of relevant interior design, architectural, or documentation experience preferred.
• Experience with commercial, retail, hospitality, workplace, or fit-out projects is an advantage.
• Basic to good understanding of interior construction, materials, finishes, and detailing.
• Ability to read and understand architectural and interior design drawings.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Able to follow briefs, instructions, templates, and established procedures accurately.
• Comfortable receiving feedback and completing revisions.
• Able to work independently on assigned tasks while knowing when clarification is required.
• Willing to learn Australian commercial interior design and documentation standards.

Communication Skills

• Good written and spoken English.
• Able to communicate professionally in a remote working environment.
• Comfortable asking questions when requirements are unclear.
• Responsive to instructions, feedback, and team communication.
• Able to provide clear updates on work progress and blockers.
• Collaborative, organised, and willing to learn.

Work Setup & Requirements

• Philippines-based remote role.
• Working hours aligned with Sydney, Australia business hours.
• Must provide a suitable desktop or laptop capable of running the required design software.
• Stable and reliable high-speed internet connection.
• Dedicated workspace suitable for remote professional work.
• Must remain available and responsive throughout scheduled working hours.
• Company-approved timekeeping and activity-monitoring tools are used during working periods.
• Must maintain regular communication and coordination with the Design team.

Compensation

₱28,000 – ₱36,000 per month

The final offer will depend on the candidate’s relevant experience, technical capability, portfolio quality, communication, ability to follow instructions, and overall suitability for the role.

Paid Trial Period

Candidates who successfully progress through the interview stages may be invited to complete a 3 to 5-day paid practical trial as the final assessment stage of the recruitment process.

The trial will assess practical design and documentation skills, accuracy, ability to follow instructions, communication, work quality, reliability, and overall suitability for the role.

Complete trial instructions, schedule, requirements, and payment details will be provided before the trial begins.

Engagement Arrangement

This position is offered under an Independent Contractor arrangement.

The successful candidate will provide services remotely to AGC Interior / Dotplan and will be responsible for maintaining the equipment, software, internet connection, and working environment required for the role.
