Chief Medical Technologist jobs

Job Description:

The Chief Medical Technologist is responsible for the overall management and supervision of the Clinical Laboratory. This includes ensuring that all laboratory tests are performed accurately, safely, and on time, in compliance with hospital policies and standards of the Department of Health.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Supervision of Laboratory Staff

· Leads and supervises all Medical Technologists and lab staff

· Assigns daily tasks and work schedules

· Ensures proper workflow in all laboratory sections

2. Quality of Laboratory Results

· Checks and ensures accuracy of laboratory test results

· Implements quality control procedures daily

· Ensures correct handling of patient specimens

3. Equipment and Supplies Management

· Oversees proper use of laboratory machines and equipment

· Ensures regular calibration and maintenance

· Monitors stock of reagents, kits, and supplies

4. Compliance and Safety

· Ensures laboratory follows DOH rules and hospital standards

· Maintains biosafety and infection control practices

· Ensures proper disposal of hazardous waste

5. Reporting and Documentation

· Prepares laboratory reports and statistics

· Reviews and validates important or critical test results

· Maintains proper records for audits and inspections

6. Staff Training and Development

· Trains new Medical Technologists and laboratory staff

· Conducts orientation and updates on lab procedures

· Encourages continuous learning and skill improvement

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology / Medical Laboratory Science

· Registered Medical Technologist (RMT)

· At least 3 years of laboratory experience (preferably supervisory)

Pay: Php30,000.00 - Php35,000.00 per hour
