Chief Medical Technologist jobs

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervision of laboratory personnel.
• Responsible for Laboratory Staff schedule and section assignment
• Facilitate the procurement of laboratory supplies and equipment. Prepares monthly census.
• Ensure proper functioning, maintenance, and care of laboratory equipment and good housekeeping of the laboratory department.
• An alliance between hospital administrative and laboratory staff.
• Trains and orients newly hired staff.
• Acts as microbiology consultant.
• Ready to deal problem if arise
• Performs initial and minor troubleshooting of laboratory machineries.
• Prepares the necessary communications affecting the laboratory.
• Attends and participates in the general meeting in Laboratory, Administrative, and Medical
• Report to hospital administrator, medical director and pathologist
• Makes requisitions of the reagents, supplies and other necessary things for the use of the laboratory.
• Assists the head Pathologist in: Evaluation and procurement of new equipment; Implementation of quality assurance and quality control schemes; Implementing plans for maintenance and improvement of equipment and laboratory procedures.
• When needed performs laboratory tests in related to Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Microscopy, Hematology, Serology and Immunology and Bacteriology
• Performs other duties that may be assigned by the Pathologist.
• DOH accreditation
• Prepared training, seminars and recommendation of staff for promotion to pathologist
• Makes the Income Report

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree relevant to the job (B.S Medical Technology or B.S Public Health)
• Preferably with Master's degree but not required
• Medical Technologist licensure examination board passer
• ASCİ, AMT, MLT, CAMLPR, AIMS, HAAD, DHA is an advantage but not required
• Experience:
• With at least 3-5yrs of experience as a Medical Technologist either (Hospital or Clinic)
• Trouble shooting of different machines
• DOH licensing experience
• Experience in basic reporting NEOAS is a must
• Experience as a senior technologist or section head in a secondary or tertiary clinical laboratory.
• At least 1 year of experience in a leadership role, such as a Senior Technologist, Section Head, or Laboratory Supervisor
• Biosafety, Biosecurity and Biorisk training (Required)
• Preferably with HIV proficient but not required
• With at least one training on Blood Banking Procedure, Total Quality Management, Microbiology or with related in the field.
• Proper waste management
• At least 15hours of relevant training
