Job Title: Special Education Teacher

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and qualified Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs in Singapore. The successful candidate will develop and implement individualized educational programs (IEPs), foster an inclusive learning environment, and work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary professionals to help students achieve their academic, social, emotional, and functional goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver individualized and differentiated lessons based on students' learning abilities and needs.
• Develop, implement, monitor, and review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Assess students' academic, behavioral, communication, and social development, and maintain accurate progress records.
• Adapt teaching methods, instructional materials, and classroom activities to accommodate diverse learning styles.
• Implement positive behavior support strategies and classroom management techniques.
• Collaborate with parents, caregivers, therapists, psychologists, and other professionals to support students' development.
• Foster students' independence, self-confidence, communication, and life skills.
• Prepare progress reports and participate in parent-teacher conferences and multidisciplinary meetings.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Participate in professional development activities and school programs.
• Ensure compliance with school policies, educational standards, and safeguarding requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
• Professional teaching qualification or Special Education certification is preferred.
• At least 5 years of teaching experience in special education or inclusive education is an advantage.
• Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Intellectual Disabilities, Down Syndrome, Learning Disabilities, or multiple disabilities is preferred.
• Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Patient, compassionate, adaptable, and committed to student-centered learning.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and educational technology tools.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of evidence-based teaching strategies and inclusive education practices.
• Experience in developing and implementing IEPs.
• Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive learning resources.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

Work Schedule

• Full-time
• Monday to Friday (subject to school operational requirements)

Salary

Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications, experience, and the employing organization's compensation structure.

Pay: Php160,000.00 - Php170,000.00 per month
