Job Summary

The Café Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the café, ensuring excellent customer service, efficient workflow, and the overall success of the business. This role involves supervising staff, maintaining product quality, managing inventory, and ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for guests.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operations Management

  • Oversee daily café operations and ensure smooth workflow during all shifts.
  • Monitor café cleanliness, food safety, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Manage cash handling, point-of-sale (POS) operations, and daily sales reports.

2. Staff Management

  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise café staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide regular coaching to maintain service standards.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.

3. Customer Service

  • Ensure exceptional customer service and promptly address customer concerns or feedback.
  • Maintain high standards of product presentation and service quality.
  • Build rapport with customers to encourage repeat business.

4. Inventory & Supply Management

  • Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage vendor relationships.
  • Track inventory usage and minimize waste.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and functioning properly.

5. Financial & Administrative Duties

  • Assist in preparing budgets, monitoring expenses, and controlling costs.
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement marketing and promotional activities to increase foot traffic and sales.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in café, restaurant, or food service management.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and café/restaurant operations.
  • Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in POS systems and basic computer applications.
