GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

He shall provide clinical equipment services such as validation and inspection of clinical equipment for completeness, mechanical and electrical safety, and proper operation, and perform planned maintenance inspections, calibrations, and repairs of general biomedical equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.

1. Installs new equipment by adjusting, establishing, testing, and calibrating performance

2. Directs operation of biomedical equipment by providing demonstrations, supplying information and data, instructing others in the care and use of equipment, and answering all questions

3. Keeps biomedical equipment in working order by performing tests, following preventive maintenance guides, repairing and troubleshooting break downs, evaluating service contracts, ordering special services if necessary, and maintaining inventories

4. Performs scheduled maintenance inspections and performance assurance inspections on equipment to ensure safe and effective operating conditions

5. Prepares reports by analyzing, collecting, and recapping trends and information

6. Updates job skills and knowledge by reading technical journals, taking advantage of educational opportunities, and maintaining professional networks

7. Maintains a healthy and safe working environment by fulfilling and recommending procedures, performing safety tests, and guiding and training health care and medical personnel
