Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly collaborative Estimator (Division 3) to serve as a key driver in the estimating pipeline. Working directly with the Senior Estimator and cross-functionally with Field Operations, Safety, and clients, this role goes beyond basic back-office data entry. You will take off quantities, digitize drawings using specialized takeoff software & modeling (Tekla), visualize 2-D & 3-D drawings, build accurate pricing spreadsheets, actively engage in pre-bid planning, analyze proposals, build critical path schedules, and formulate winning presentation materials to secure project awards.

Key Responsibilities (What You'll Do)

Takeoffs & Pricing

• Quantify and digitize drawings using digital takeoff software.
• Populate and build out pricing spreadsheets.
• Price and reconcile drawing changes from drawing set to drawing set.

Pre-Bid & Operations Alignment

• Meet with the Field Operations Team and the Safety Department for a preliminary sequencing, form work, budget, and logistics plan, etc.
• Ask questions and brainstorm for the best way to build a complex structure.
• Solicit input from others, and share “lessons learned” with the team.

Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination

• Meet with form work suppliers to discuss their ideas for a more efficient cycle.
• Discuss rebar, and post tension quantities and variances with subcontractors.
• Analyze proposals and scopes of work from clients and subcontractors.

Client Engagement & Presentations

• Communicate with the client throughout the process to ensure our plan is also acceptable.
• Prepare client presentation materials (Pour plan, form work plan, 3-D models, etc.).
• Lead the internal estimate review meeting.

Project Scheduling & Strategy

• Develop a critical path schedule and discuss the logic behind the sequence.
• Attend post bid interviews as needed.
• Walk the job on occasion to receive feedback for future estimates.

Required Qualifications & Competencies (What We're Looking For)

• Commercial Concrete Expertise: Direct commercial concrete experience; preference for tilt-up and vertical estimating backgrounds.
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Building Construction or equivalent field experience preferred.
• Technical & Software Proficiency:
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and digital takeoff software.
• Ability to visualize 2D drawings in 3D and communicate complex methods clearly.
• Bonus Technical Skills: Experience with OSHA Certification, Document Control, or construction modeling software (e.g., Tekla).
• Communication & Multi-Tasking: Strong verbal/written skills with high energy; ability to manage multiple fast-paced projects and handle confidential files.
• US Schedule Alignment: Fully synchronous availability during US business hours for real-time collaboration with state-side leadership.
