Farm Manager

Location: Hacienda Macalauan

Job Summary

The Farm Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Hacienda Macalauan, ensuring efficient farm production, proper management of personnel, and maintenance of farm facilities and equipment. The role requires strong leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills to maximize productivity while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities: Farm Operations

• Plan, organize, and supervise all farm activities.
• Monitor crop and/or livestock production schedules to ensure timely operations.
• Implement best agricultural practices to improve productivity and quality.
• Oversee irrigation, fertilization, pest and disease control, and harvesting activities.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Staff Management

• Supervise, train, and evaluate farm workers.
• Assign daily tasks and monitor work performance.
• Maintain a positive, productive, and safe working environment.
• Coordinate staffing requirements during peak farming seasons.

Equipment and Facilities

• Ensure proper use and maintenance of farm machinery, tools, and vehicles.
• Schedule preventive maintenance and necessary repairs.
• Monitor inventory of farm supplies, fertilizers, feeds, seeds, and other materials.

Financial and Administrative Duties

• Prepare operational budgets and monitor expenses.
• Maintain accurate records of production, labor, inventory, and farm activities.
• Submit regular reports on farm performance, productivity, and operational concerns.
• Coordinate purchasing of farm inputs and supplies.

Quality and Compliance

• Ensure products meet quality standards and customer requirements.
• Implement biosecurity and safety protocols where applicable.
• Stay updated on modern farming techniques and agricultural regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Animal Science, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 –10 years of experience in farm management or agricultural operations.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of livestock management.
• Ability to operate or supervise the use of farm equipment.
• Proficient in recordkeeping, budgeting, and basic computer applications.
• Willing to live on-site or travel as required.
